razorpay reached out to me for creating an explainer video for their ftx’25 event.
the core idea of the video was to convey that a qr code is no longer just a payment utility, it is one of the most visible touchpoints between a business and it's customers.
the goal here was to highlight how branded qr experiences can strengthen trust, improve brand recall and create a more professional customer experience.

my role
i worked as a solo designer on this project, designing all the assets in 2d with some in 3d to styleframes and then animating it while keeping razopay’s brand guidelines in mind.

early explorations
as soon as i got a script from the client i directly jumped into figma and started creating very rough styleframes so that I can capture quick feedback from the client and wipe out the ideas that were not ringing the bell. to be honest the initial exploration sucked!!!
but due to these early experiments i was able to get into client’s head and really capture what they wanted.

challenges faced
the biggest challenge was making the 3-step process easy to understand. even though the video clearly showed all the steps, we (client + me) were not able to realize that it was a sequence of actions.
we thought of adding a voiceover but then that would mean adding a voiceover across the whole video which didn't align with what was initially asked.
then it suddenly hit me - we can just show the numbers!
this small tweak made a huge difference.

room for improvement
on the top of my head, this project lacks secondary animations. using them could have elevated the video even further! :)
